The arson attack on Adass Israel Synagogue this morning is nothing short of antisemitism and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. I’ve spoken with the leaders of this congregation and offered the community the full support of the Victorian Government.
There were worshippers inside the Synagogue at the time of the attack, and we are lucky people weren’t seriously injured or killed. There is never a justification for the use of violence and I stand with our Jewish community in the face of this hateful act.
